Boris PIGOVAT
né en 1953

 

Boris Pigovat was born in 1953 in Odessa (Ukraine). He studied at the Gnessin Music Institute in Moscow. After having lived in Tajikistan between 1978 and 1990, he moved to Israel. Most of his works draw their inspiration from the great historic conflicts of Occidental Europe and the Middle East (Holocaust Requiem, Music for Sorrow and Hope, Jerusalem...). In the course of his career as a composer, he has been awarded many distinctions, including the Prize of the Ministry of the State of Israel, and the ACUM Prize (Israeli association of composers and music publishers)...
